Low Key, Low-Tech and Low-Budget Distance Learning and Training, Part II By Marilyn L. Gross, Managing Editor The Internet Insider - For Grantseekers & Fundraisers   The last issue of Tech News featured an introduction to distance learning and training. This time we focus on specific sites that may inspire and inform your own organization's efforts. If your organization is a user of distance learning, examples of practical applications of low-tech distance learning for nonprofits are listed below. These include the self-paced, usually free, as well as the more structured, usually fee-based. If your organization is a provider of distance learning for your staff or board members, volunteers, clients or others, examples of these are listed also. Note that while access may be restricted, the public parts of these sites give enough information about their approach or what they offer, to spark your organization's creativity in designing what you can provide for your own users. Self-Paced, Usually Free Online tutorials, journal articles, e-mail newsletters, Frequently Asked Questions files (FAQs), tip sheets, sample grant proposals, fundraising letters and more: Impact Online Internet 101: Introduction to the Internet http://www.impactonline.org/services/internet/"This course provides some better reasons to go online as well as an introduction to the Internet that is low on hype and high on useful facts."
