Attracting and Retaining Tech Employees Free Net and Web Resources for Your Organization's IT Professionals

     There's a tremendous amount of free information on the net and Web for IT professionals and for those who hire and manage them.

Helping your organization's techies acquire the IT knowledge, experience and credentials they want in order to progress in their careers, can be a powerful means to keep them interested and engaged in the work your organization needs them to do. This can also help to avoid losing them to employers who would pay them more to hire them away.

There are many useful free IT Web sites, grouped below in four categories:

IT Informational Portals - These are IT supersites:

Earthweb www.earthweb.com - IT industry portal. Provides content for research, your career, the IT community and commerce.

TechRepublic www.techrepublic.com - IT community hub
Made up of three sub-Web sites that provide content on training, user support, network administration, IT management, CIO analysis and enterprise resource planning.

Solution Central www.solutioncentral.com - One-stop IT knowledge marketplace. Information on IT events, training, Web and technical resources.
